Denise Thimes, a renowned St. Louis Jazz Vocalist, and Johnny Furr, Jr., the former Vice President of Community Affairs at Anheuser-Busch Companies, established the Mildred Thimes Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer in 2012. The foundation was named after Denise's mother, Mildred Thimes, who passed away from pancreatic cancer in 1997, during a time when knowledge about the disease was limited. Denise serves as the Executive Director of the foundation, which consists of a fifteen-member Board of Directors. Their mission is to raise awareness about pancreatic cancer and support research efforts related to this specific type of cancer
